Went to visit a family friend today, staff there top notch people. Was my first visit was bit daunting at first although right from the front boom gates they explained everything and made it very easy for me. My friend in there said that they are all treated great and that everyone detained has use of great facilities and nobody really wants for anything. Thanks for making my visit easy today.

A world class concentration camp capable of housing political prisoners in relative comfort and providing useful employment for those with low levels of social empathy.

Serco Security Guards mistreat refugees being detained at Yongah Hill Detention Center. The right for refugees to seek medical treatment is stripped. Provoking refugees by bullying and Guards making false accusations against a refugee is what is happening at Yongah Hill Detention Center. Locking up a refugee for 24hrs for no reason is not fair! This needs to be looked into. These security guards have been misusing their power! Refugees have rights too!

Sorry for the comment, but the detention service is very bad. My boyfriend is vegan and has no food other than salad for him to eat. He lost more than 5kilos in 1 month, we have ordered more than 10 times variety for vegan, but you do not put any food for him. I tried to ask to take frozen foods, packaged in supermarkets and the detention does not authorize me. I am very disappointed with this, I hope you will change because you are putting a person's life at stake, every day they complain and say that they are depressed because of the way they are treated. Anyway, DECEPTION.

Very kind staff keep residents entertained with regular spontaneous boxing matches. Plenty of facilities for children including severall 15 foot climbing walls on the exterior, some of which are electrified for an extra challenge. Residents are treated to a variety of meals, including tomato soup, pumpkin soup, vegetable soup and other soups. The complimentary garments gifted upon arrival are a striking orange, reflecting popular cultural trends and pertaining to the high quality, up-to-date facilities. Great place, can't wait to go back!

Some nurses withhold medication from inmates, everytime you complain they cover eachothers back and make excuses. They take advantage of those who dont speak English, they abuse those who cant express them selfs. Goverment need to look into this because this is a immigration Detention centre not Jail! the guards make it feel worse than jail for the inmates. When you call the Detention centre no one ever picks up the phone. I could go on and on with the all the issues going on in this detention centre but whats the point if no one does anything about it!

Awesome! This is a great resort. All of the meals, refreshments, pay TV, internet access, medical and activities are free! The accommodation is better than most peoples homes with air conditioning the latest TVs and domestic appliances. The activities coordinators (security staff) are happy and provide an exciting environment by giving out random beatings to keep the guests on their toes. The best part, some of the guests are selected at random and are given a free house and a massive cash payment when checking out at the end of their stay. I would thoroughly recommend this resort to any new overseas arrivals, 5 stars.

Two times now I’ve called and the lady at the front office Casey has given me the wrong information!First time I called I wanted them to do a welfare check on my brother as I hadn’t heard from him in two days since his arrival to Yongah Hill, her reply was “We don’t do that here”. Pray tell, if my brother or another detainee was in their room with mental health issues about to kill themselves, would you leave them there and say “that’s not our problem”?!Now, second call I wanted to find out information on who his case manager is so we could follow up, her reply today was “We don’t have that information, call border force”I had an inkling that was wrong, border force and the DHA don’t have that information, it’s the detention centre that assigns a new case manager, ontop of this my brother should of been informed on who his case manager is upon arrival but wasn’t.Absolutely appalling, I know majority of the people In there don’t have ties to the outside community but my brother does.I will be putting a formal complaint in as well as contacting my local member of parliament about this issue. No wonder why each week a detainee takes their life, but as usual it gets swept under the rug.Disgusting.
